Ni Hao from Guangzhou

After a long day, we have safely arrived in Guangzhou. It is definitely warmer and it feels quite different from our previous cities. The island looks so beautiful at night - all light up, and the Pearl River runs right through it. I think it will be a fun few days. Lily was a star yesterday. She was such a trooper and we are so proud of this baby girl. S

This was one of the waitresses that worked at our hotel. She was so sweet and loved Lily. Every morning at breakfast, she made sure Lily had everything that she wanted. Her name is Joy.

Goody-bye picture with our amazing guides, Rita and Yisha. This would not be possible without their help. They prepared us for meeting our children. They walked us through all of the necessary steps and paperwork. They stayed in the hotel with us and were available 24/7. They were loving and kind and we will miss them.

On the bus, going to the airport. Lily was telling a big story, maybe saying good-bye to her city.

Waiting for the plane, and playing with daddy's nose. Actually, she does this a lot. She loves to study our faces.

Mike came in very handy as a pack mule. Love him!

Today we have another busy day. Lily has her medical exam this morning and this afternoon, we have to do her visa paperwork. We really want to get outside and explore Shamian Island and take lots of photos. Also, the Starbucks will definitely be on our to do list today.

  2. Peter is already sounding like and amazing big brother which every little sister needs. Lily is so precious! I have to say that Starbucks was one of Eric's favorite places on the island.

  3. Have fun in Guangzhou! Oh the shopping....buy lots of squeaky shoes...even when you think you have enough...buy more! :)

Kalia did (& still does on occasion) the nose thing. Unfortunately she's not very gentle, so we ended up with LOTS of scratches. She's getting better... I love how they love to study your face :)

  4. Rita and Yisha were amazing!!!! We loved them so much and they helped us more than we can describe.

It is interesting reading about your trip because it is like reading about our trip, but with nicer weather. We also feel like we got the most perfect little baby girl in the world and we went through the same things on our trip. It sort of puts it into perspective that every week, parents are going through this process with their new children, but to all of us, the experience feels unique. It is humbling and amazing and wonderful how many people do this and we all feel like we are the luckiest parents in the world!
