Last day in Zhengzhou

Quick post, as today is our last day in Zhengzhou City. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Guangzhou, the final leg of our journey. This morning we went to The Henan Museum. Henan Provence is the center of Chinese civilization. It was very interesting, and we learned about the ancient Chinese Dynasties. We also listened to a short musical show with traditional Chinese instruments. Lily was very fond of that.

We need to pack this afternnon. Our room is a mess, to say the least, so that should take some time. Lily is napping like an angel right now. At 5pm, our guide will deliver all of our adoption documents to us. These are what we need to take to the US Consulate in Guangzhou, so we can do all of the paperwork needed for the US and receive Lily's visa. We'll have some dinner and try to get a good nights sleep.

I'll post a few photos below of Lily that we have taken over the past few days. It is hard to believe that we have only had her for 3 days. We are so in love and so amazed by this baby girl. Her paperwork had said that she is a happy baby. This is so true! She babbles and waves and smiles often. She giggles and shakes her head no, even though she usually means yes. There may be a little temper in there, too. She does not cry often, unless she is tired or hungry. She readily goes to both of us, however when she is upset, she does have a prefrence for me. Mike understands this. Her tears break our hearts. Her beauty takes our breath away. She likes to be silly with Mike and they blow raspberries together. We are so excited for her big brothers to meet their baby sister. It is going to be love at first sight.

We are so looking forward to part 3 of this amazing trip. Today when we were riding on the bus through town, Lily was looking out the window and waving at the cars and people going by. I could not help but feeling sad, for tomorrow we are leaving where she is from. She seemed so happy and trusting of us in that moment. We will for sure bring her back one day.

  3. What a blessing indeed! I read your post about the visit to CWI. Truly one of the hardest days in my life. So bitter sweet. Luke's CWI had over 450 children and most of them were special needs kiddos all lying in cribs. I'll share my blog with you one of these days. Hang in there. You will enjoy Guangzhou at least it will be warmer!!!! There is a little Catholic Church on Shamian Isaland just past the Starbucks. It is such a peaceful place. luv, jan
