Steamboat Springs

After Christmas, we traveled to Steamboat Springs and it was awesome! This little peanut....she did it! She marched off to all day ski school and loved it. Previously, she had not been too sure about skiing, in fact she told us that she would like to wait until she was 16! That was totally fine with as, as I didn't want to push her to do something she didn't want to do. But after watching a few minutes of little ones in ski school, she changed her mind. We were so proud of her! (The new pair of pink goggles may have helped too!) Her big brothers made a huge deal of the fact that she skied and she just beamed when she saw us all watching her. She looked so little bundled up in all of her ski gear. She had no fear of riding up the magic carpet all by herself! I don't think she has the leg strength to ski in the wedge position, but she pointed her tips down the bunny hill and off she went. Her instructor was great; fun, sweet, patient and very attentive. Lily wants to do it again. yay!!

A cute story that I don't want to forget - her lesson wasn't scheduled to end until 3:30 but Mike and I decided to go to the bunny hill a little early to see if she was ready to quit. We watched her for a few minutes before she spotted us. She shuffled over to me in her skies, pointed at me and said, "don't come pick me up yet!", turned and shuffled right back to her instructor! It was classic Lily :)  This little cupcake surprises me in the most amazing ways!

We got to stay in a beautiful home just minutes from the ski hill. It snowed a lot while we were there so Mike and the boys enjoyed some very deep and fresh powder. We had so much fun with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents! It was the perfect way to ring in 2014!

Excited for 2014 and all of the blessings to come!
