Chinese New Year

We had a really fun evening at CCAI's Chinese New Year celebration. Lily's class did a little performance. She was a little shy about being up on stage but I was very proud of her for going up there with her class. She had so much fun sitting in the aisle with her friends and watching all of the performances. She looked like one of the big girls! All evening she was calling it "my China show". I absolutely love how much she identifies with and feels connected to her Chinese heritage. It warms my heart that it makes her feel special.

It was very dark in the theater so photos from the event didn't turn out that well. Lily was being especially cheeky before we left and let me snap these of her in her new Chinese silk dress.

We also had a  fun Valentine's Day. For some reason, this day made a big impression on Lily. She loved all of the hearts, flowers and chocolate involved with the day. She had a party at preschool and exchanged valentines with her classmates. Her daddy brought home 2 dozen yellow roses for her. She was thrilled! Everyday since then she has told me, many times, "happy Valentine's day, mommy". It is the sweetest thing ever! The way she says it makes me melt every single time.
